Vendors can now request extensions in-platform

We've released Request for Extension, a self-service way for vendors to ask for more time on an assessment, with a simple approve or reject workflow for Customers to review each request.

Customer extension request

Sometimes a vendor needs a bit more time to pull their information together for a Financial Viability Assessment. With this release, that request is now automated with requests happening directly inside Fiable which you can approve or reject.

Vendors can ask for more time, without leaving the platform

What's new: Vendors now see a Request for Extension option on eligible assessments once their response deadline is getting close. Selecting it prompts them to enter a new proposed date and a short message explaining why.

What it means for customers No more wondering why an assessment has gone quiet. You see exactly why more time is needed and what date they're asking for, as soon as they ask.

Customers can now review, approve and reject extension requests

What's new: For the first time, you can review and decide on extension requests yourself. When a vendor submits a request, it appears on the assessment with an Extension Requested tag, showing their proposed date and message. You can approve or reject it directly from there, and you'll also get an email notification.

What it means for you: More transparency and more control. You now see every extension request as it comes in and make the call yourself. Approve a request and the assessment is automatically rescheduled to the new date. Reject one and the vendor is notified straightaway with your reason, and they're free to submit another request if they still need one.

FAQs

What happens when I approve an extension request?

The original assessment closes out and a new one is automatically scheduled for the date the vendor asked for. That new assessment becomes the one to track, so there's no need to juggle two versions of the same request.

What happens when I reject a request?

The vendor is notified straightaway, along with the reason you gave. Nothing else changes on your end, the original assessment stays as is.

Can a vendor ask for an extension again if I've rejected one?

Yes. They can submit another request with a new date and message, and you'll be able to review and decide on that one too. Just keep in mind only one extension can ever be approved for a given assessment, so once you've said yes, that's final.

Do I have to enable anything to use this?

No. Request for Extension is available to all roles.

Customers: how it works
